The Chat (also known as the Xat) was created in late December by TheSundanceKid, as a result to combat the off-topic discussions that haunted the thread. It worked... perhaps too well. The posts in MYM dropped tenfold overnight, causing many of the newcomers to wonder where everyone had gone to, as they did not receive the bulletin.
